The new special edition of Balvenie is distilled, as the name says, into three different types of wood.

The first is used the traditional cask to mature and soften the whisky but without dominating its flavor. Then used the cask previously used for aging Bourbon whisky, which adds flavors of vanilla and coconut. And finally, the third cask, previously used for aging Jerez wine, imparts flavors of dried fruit to the whisky.
After ripening in these three different casks, the whisky is combined into a large cask, for about six months.
Resulting in an elegant whisky and unique personality.
