After a slow and careful process, in 1971, Adega Velha was produced.

It was in a Charentais still acquired in the Cognac region that Roberto Guedes made his first experiences of Vinho Verde distillation, a wine produced from grapes coming from Aveleda. Later, António Guedes decided to send samples of the resulting barrels to Cognac, which gave a very positive reaction and encouraged the production of a unique brandy.
