Aperitif / Digestif

A digestif is an alcoholic drink served after a meal. There are many styles of digestifs, from bitters and fortified wines to brandies and herbal liqueurs. They have a higher alcohol content, but offer a more relaxing profile and are richer.

An aperitif, on the other hand, is a refreshing drink that is served before a meal to stimulate the appetite. They tend to be bitter or designed to arouse the palate and digestive system.
